Rís Mom: Archives.... Old times!!!!
Last night I was just going through the archives and saw my own message regarding my swcah daughter then 18 mths old. I was so worried and scared because we were then living in a very remote village in my very under developed country. Today my daughter is 8 1/2 yrs old and we r well settled in USA, so glad we made a right choice of moving here...

Rís Mom: Funny and sad ...
My 8 1/2,yo daughter is going into early puberty and her endo will decide if she should put her on lupron next month or so. This morning I thought may be I should mentally prepare her for the lupron so I asked her a couple of questions . Our conversation was like this...

I’ve just joined the ’new era’ CAH site and it’s exactly what I hoped it wouldn’t be! That horrible, horrible, horrible and one more horrible Facebook like format, with its revolt-causing ’ like’ and ’dislike’ buttons etc etc...

Lou: Website!Living With
I just signed up to this website which seems good. What I like is you get the opportunity once or so a month to message a Dr about CAH which I thought was a good idea.

Site Admin: On April 15th this board will migrate...
After that to view the archives you can use, which was going to be the new format, but still displays all messages. I’ll eventually add a search there to find older posts. To go to the new social network community go to http://congenitaladrenalhyperplasia...

cc: cortef and puberty
I know cortef can affect height growth, but does it also slow down puberty and thin hair? My 13 year old daughter does not seem to have any significant development in over a year. Since her bone age is congruent, I am beginning to worry. Her sister was a late bloomer, but her bone age was delayed by 3 years...

anon: Gay or not?
I am a mom to a swcah girl. After reading the thread below I am wondering if it is inevitable that my daughter will be a lesbian. For those of you who have a swcah grown child or have swcah would you mind telling me if you are a lesbian or not?

KJ: Question about Puberty
We just realized that our 10 1/2 yr old SWCAH son is starting to grow some hair in his genital area. Should we be concerned? His last bone age (in December) said he was 6-12 months advanced....which seemed fine. We’re scheduled to meet w/ his endocrinologist next week...

Kelly Leight: AIU has a survey for family member of those affected by CAH
Jennifer Knapp from Adrenal Insufficiency United asked me to post this survey: This is for people who DO NOT have CAH (AI--adrenal insufficiency) and we need lots more people to take it to validate our other survey which is clearly showing that people with AI do suffer some serious side effects...
